Do ya chain hang low?!

You know me, any chance I can get to quote an old school rap song, I take it! Here is a little purse DIY that I whipped up last month before heading to Vegas.  My friend Megan is a fellow thrifter and found me a hot pink snakeskin clutch (with a long strap so it can be worn cross body) and I of course loved it...when I got it in the mail, a thought occured: "uhhh I have that exact purse but in light pink/purple!" I have probably had it since college and hadn't used it in forever.  It's missing the strap and so I always just carried it as a clutch which I almost never use anymore...this girl needs a strap! I also decided I didn't need 2 pink snakeskin thrifted bags so I decided to try a little something on it.

It's been awhile since I have given you an update on Casa Montgomery....probably because not much has been updated since I have been back to work, oooops haha! We have had weddings, showers, or some sort of party nearly every weekend since August and between that and working, haven't had alot of time to devote to renovating. BUT the grout has been completed and our open shelving is now up! Here are some pics of the shelves going down to refresh your memory (sorry for the awful grainy pics).

I forget how bad it was before...okay fine not bad but just builder-y.  Ewww. Those counter tops and that backsplash. So remember since this we have painted (adios builder beige and my chalkboard wall), knocked out the backsplash, re-dry walled , put up new tile backsplash and installed concrete counter tops. Okay sort of...I didn't get a picture of the whole space and things aren't exactly in their place right now, but at least you get a "work in progress shot."  We are still needing to buy new plates/glassware to display, and those cute new canisters aren't in their permanent home (plus the hubs already dropped and broke a lid...I think they lasted a full week in our house before that happened!) Below are a few items that we have been eyeing to put up there....

Senor Crosby is Dos

Well Crosby officially turned T W O last Friday, October 17th and we had his party the weekend before that {more on that to come} so I wanted share with you the invitations that I made.  I had seen a wedding invitation similar on some blog probably about a year ago and the image just stuck with me....now of course when I was making the invites I couldn't find a link or picture anywhere to show you my original inspiration, but I took the idea and ran with it.  The hubs and I decided we wanted it to be a traditional +  modern Mexican fiesta. So the idea of the inspiration invite + pinatas brought me to this invitation that I think worked perfectly.  

They took forever to put together {and I probably have carpal tunnel from cutting all the tissue paper out} but I love how they turned out and I think they added a little fiesta to everyone's mail that day! 

21 and 22

Crosby is 22 months y'all! 2 more months to go before is is TWO ahhh! He is so much fun these days, laughing at everything (he even has this hilarious little fake laugh that he does), learning new things every day, and knock-on-wood sleeping like a champ still.

Some of his favorites lately have been:

Running-the kid is faster than me which I guess isn't saying much but damn he is quick

Eating-DUH still basically eats everything but has a new found love for dips or dipping anything: queso is an obsession, loves dipping anything like toast or fruit into yogurt, and steals any sort of dip Clay or I are eating (guac, chickfila sauce, ranch, etc)

Mickey Mouse-again DUH

Shades-doesn't leave home without them & sometimes wears 'em inside too!

Bubbles-Squeals with delight at any sort of bubble but right now he is lovin' bubble baths

And speaking of baths, Bath Crayons: he loves getting to pick out what color he gets to use and loves making masterpieces on the the bathtub walls (he's also getting good at knowing what color is what and he loves saying Blue, Purple & Yellow "Boo, Popo, Wellow" 

Helping- He loves helping put the detergent in the washer, throwing things in the trash, closing doors, vacuuming, getting out his bubble bath & washcloth, etc.  Anything he can help us do, he gets so excited.  I'm thinking he is going to start having a chore of pouring Palmer's food in his bowl every night.

Clearly it looks like the only thing we do is go to Target and hang out in the same pair of PJ's...ooops. 

Crossing a Few Things Off the List

**WARNING** All the pictures you are about to see are terrible/in progress shots, just wanted to warn you so that you didn't think you were seeing anything great haha! I am waiting to take really great pictures when we are finished or at least finished enough that there aren't tools/dust/blue tape/etc everywhere. So here's what was on our list (I may have forgotten a few) of things to change for Phase 1  as we are calling it:

This amazing new door will be the new entrance into the office/playroom (those stripes will be gone)
