Friday Finds 9.27.13

I am going to TRY to start a series called "Friday Finds" where I post things I am diggin' each week.  It may be a project to try, recipe to make (or have someone else make me), something I want to wear, products I love, or simply something that I think is funny because let's face it, I love a good laugh.   We will see if I can keep up with it! :)
I am in LOVE with these 2 mugs from the Etsy shop ChantillyStay.  Unfortunately the first mug is sold but the second one is still available..and maybe my favorite.

I have no idea where this sweater is from but I know I need to find it immediately. This is the perfect lightweight sweater to wear with jeans/leggings this Fall.

And Homemade Pumpkin Fro-Yo?! I don't cook but I am pretty sure I could handle this...especially since there's only 4 ingredients! Check out the recipe on Babble.

Crosby's Birthday Invite Sneak Peek

Crosby's birthday is only a few weeks away (what?!?!?) so invitations are almost ready to go out, I am just waiting on the return address stickers to get here.  So I thought I would give you a preview of his envelopes and just a peek at the actual invite.  I will be posting full pictures next week!

State Pride Link Party

I saw this State Pride Link party over at Infarrantly Creative and I just had to repost my favorite project.  I certainly have some love for the great state of TEXAS and made some of my favorite little babies some Texas onesies/tees to show their love for the Lone Star State...and of COURSE had to repost their pictures too because they are the CUTEST little models!  Head on over to the link party to check out other bloggers State Pride Projects.

Picture Ledges

This post brings you a project that the hubs and I made over the summer.  We had a blank wall in our living room that needed something..we didn't want artwork there because we had a big piece of artwork on another wall and we had mirrors on another one also so we decided on picture ledges.  We hit up Ikea and got the Ribba ledges that we used for Crosby's book wall in his room.  Got them up and....whahhh whahhh. They were WAY to short for the wall, I wish I had a picture of how awful it looked.  We had measured before we bought them knew they might be short but once we got them up there we knew they had to come down immediately. So we were back where we started with a blank wall with some new holes in it.  I found this DIY project on where else? Pinterest of course and it led me to the tutorial on Shanty 2 Chic. We altered it a little bit for the size we needed and instead of staining the shelves I decided to use chalk paint and distress them. I went with white, light gray and then a darker gray.  Below is how the picture ledges looked for abouuuuuut 2 months: on that big blank wall in the living room...some frames with pictures, some with nothing and one special frame that had the picture that comes with the frame (yep kept that one up for 2 months too! Everyone made fun of me!)

So we (the hubs) got tired of the picture ledges there and wanted to switch things up a bit so we moved them to the wall in the kitchen.  So that is where they reside now and will for a little while I think! Not bad for a under $20 right?!

Eleven

Oh my gosh, I only have one more month until he is ONE?! Ahhh how did that happen?! Crosby is 11 months old today and officially into EVERYTHING...So far in the past few days he has knocked over a small display of Oreos at Target, pulled two coffee table books and candles down on top of himself when he was trying to pull up on the end table and tries climbing out of the bathtub. He has mastered the "half pull up," where he can pull up on his knees and then he stops and just hangs out there on his knees! Still doesn't crawl, but can sure get all the way across the room somehow. He's a funny little thing and loves to trick the dogs into thinking that they will get food.  He will get food in his hand and reach down to give it to one of them and then is like "sssssiiiiike! It's mine!" and puts it in his mouth. Already a trickster. He has mastered "mama and dada" but only says "mama" when he realllly wants something or is sleepy/sad. He is working on "dog" and "up." Alright Crosby, the countdown to party time starts NOW!

I am so PSL.

Levo League
In follow up to my post yesterday about my love of all things Fall and my deep obsession with Pumpkin Spice Lattes, a friend sent me this article and I just HAD to share! Read it and enjoy.  I am so PSL and perhaps a dash of Skinny Vanilla Latte.

I Heart Fall.

Annnnnd 3 Day weekends. Pretty sure every weekend should be one.  We did minimal laboring this Labor Day Weekend and had a very relaxed yet fun-filled weekend, which is just like I like em.  Crosby worked on his crawling skillz...he's STILL not quite there but so CLOSE! When he gets frustrated he just resorts back to rolling or sliding across the floor. Or giving up and hanging on his tummy with Harper!

We went with Sophie to a splash park/community pool and he just had the best time.  He was so in to everything that he literally would not look at the camera (duhhh Mah, this turtle is way more interesting than the camera!) At least Soph humored me by looking...

Now back to the title of this posting...

I heart Fall. No literally, I love summer and all and I LOVE being off work for the summer, but Fall you have my heart. Now that Labor Day is over, it's time to pretend it is Fall. I know it doesn't officially start for a few more weeks (and in Texas a few more months) but this teacher certainly had her first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season!

Now I am just counting down the days until I can wear sweaters, boots, and scarfs everyday. Again, like I said, I won't be able to dress like this for QUITE a while, but a girl can dream right?!

At least with the TX heat I can enjoy a frozen pumpkin treat.  I am dying to try these Snickerdoodle Pumpkin Ice Cream Sammies!
